Shaggy Parasol Macrolepiota rhacodes

Height up to 20cm

Cap Width up to 15cm

Stem Width up to 2cm

Gills white

 

Scaly cap which at first is convex but then flattens, as seen in the picture below.

Stem is smooth with a double ring. The ring can be easily moved up and down the stem.

Flesh bruises a pinkish tinge

Blackish brown hornshaped fungus.

Height up to 12cm

In France it is called la viande des pauvres, translating to poor man's meat.
