Aladdin
A
whole new world for Phil Barnett
Aladdin
director Phil Barnett has just returned
from his flying visit to Buckingham
Palace where he had been invited to
the Queen’s prestigious Summer Garden
Party in recognition of his tireless
work with the award winning Kidz R Us.
The
St Ives based theatre group began 13
years ago to give young people in the
area a chance to express themselves
and develop their creative talent in
musical theatre.
Their
current production of Disney’s musical
adaption of Aladdin has been described
as “undoubtedly a fantastic show that
brings a magical story to life. It is
visually spectacular, fast pace, funny
& lively, leaving no room for boredom
or clock watching”.
The
stage version of the hugely popular
Disney film contains some familiar numbers
including A Whole New World, A Friend
Like Me and Prince Ali.
Over
fifty of the younger group of Kidz take
part and the whole production is hugely
colourful with hundreds of beautiful
costumes, stunning lighting, including
a ultra-violet scene, striking scenery
and slick dance routines.
Let
Aladdin show you the world at 8pm every
Thursday in St Ives Theatre when Princess
Jasmine, Genie and the award winning
Kidz perform their amusing, colourful
production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr complete
with flying carpet.
